iCare were absolutely delighted to be able to purchase a brand-new Freedom Trike, at a cost of £2,000 for five-year-old Cillian Magee.
The DCP 16 Tricycle was recommended by Cillian’s physio and is built to support to suit his needs; its awesome design, fun colours, and smooth ride make it an exciting exercise and core strengthening trike which will give Cillian both exercise and freedom to do more fun activities.
“The trike will allow us to get Cillian out and about in a more fun way. It will enable him to be able to do what any other child can do without even having to think about it.” Cillian’s mum Paula said. “We are very grateful for the trike and look forward to family outings with it. The trike will give Cillian independence and work his muscles and strengthen them without him realising it and in a fun way.” She continued.
The bespoke design of the tricycle means that Cillian will now experience improved range of motion, proper hip-to-foot positioning, development of balance and self-support, improved motor planning, increased blood circulation and strengthening of anti-gravity muscles. The stabilized bike has parking brake for transferring Cillian safely to and from the trike and will generally support Cillian’s overall mobility.
iCare are touched by the smile we’ve been able to bring to Cillian’s face and how we’ve been able to support the Magee family with our simple act of kindness.
