As a fun-loving boy, Reece Burrows enjoys the simple things in life. Much like the charity iCare who enjoy granting iCare Wishes, Reece loves to bring a smile to the faces of those near by. Reece who has developed a passion for music, is often enticed by the music channels and playing with his siblings Seth and Xander. At the young age of only 8 years old, Reece is forced to fight a constant battle with Cerebral Palsy along with other special needs, which has left him reliant on medical attention from his family throughout the day and night.
In granting this most recent Wish, iCare was delighted to present the Banbridge family with a new bed that can be placed in Reece’s room for his parents who act as his main carers, to help with night time care.
The specialised bed which also folds into a chair, has provided an opportunity to reduce risk for the family, so that they are able to keep a close eye on Reece. iCare representative Laura McDonald met with mum Dawn recently to find out how the bed is influencing family life since its delivery in January. The latest wish proves, that much like a bed, an iCare Wish can come in all shapes or sizes.
