iCare and HCIL Reveal Final Total for Give an Hour Campaign 2019

Cheque Presentations to Horizon House and LauraLynn Children’s Hospices
Raising a fantastic £7,200 as a result of almost 800 HCIL Staff donating one hour of their salary’s in June, HCIL and iCare have presented cheques for £3,700/ €3,700 to the only two Children’s Hospice’s in Ireland, Horizon House, the NI Children’s Hospice and LauraLynn Children’s Hospice in Dublin.
Members of the HCIL Domiciliary Care, Support Services, Housing teams along with iCare Committee members visited the Children’s Hospice’s last week to make the cheque presentations and received a thoroughly warm welcome.

Having raised over £15,000 since its inception in 2015, the internal HCIL/ iCare fundraising initiative has proved a real success every year with hundreds of care assistants, office staff, managers and senior management across the country actively getting involved by donating one hour of their salary.
Founded in 2010, iCare is 100% volunteer led having raised over £300,000 and delivered more than 350 iCare Wishes through a range of fundraisers and initiatives with the help and support of over 300 supportive volunteers. Annual fundraisers include the Christmas extravaganza, Santa’s Gatelodge.
Speaking about the cheques presentations, Janine Smalls, Co-Founder of iCare Charity said “Today has been both a very proud and humbling day for our iCare and HCIL team. To visit the Hospice and see first-hand the sense of family, serenity and comfort and the complete commitment and dedication of the team there was really moving. We are absolutely delighted to have been able to make presentations to both Children’s Hospice’s from our Give an Hour Campaign.”
