Eoin Toal Armagh City
23rd June 2017
Mairead Mackle from Homecare Independent Living recently met with Eoin Toal and coaches from Armagh City Football Club to wish Eoin every success with his future as he makes the transition into fulltime football with Derry City in the League of Ireland.
Eoin is a product of the very successful Homecare sponsored Armagh City Youth Academy, having graduated from the Mini Soccer to Youth Football before he broke into the Armagh City senior team in 2015/16.
Last season Eoin was ever present in the Armagh City first team and made an impact on and off the pitch.
Eoin, a key member of the Armagh City U16 National League winning team in 2015, has developed into a Northern Ireland Youth International player and has captained his country. His growth has continued through from youth football and over the last season he has become a permanent fixture on the Armagh City senior team. His performances in the Championship 1 league this season attracted the attention of teams from England, the Irish Premiership and the League of Ireland.
Kenny Shiels, the Derry City manager, has recognised the potential that Eoin has and feels that he can continue to develop, and with dedication and the right work ethic Kenny believes that he can make the transition and become a key player for the League of Ireland side.
Eoin has now relocated to Derry where he has started the next phase of his development and fulfilled his dream of becoming a fulltime professional football player.
