iCare celebrates successful European Heritage Open Day
14th September 2018

On Saturday 8th of September, the iCare Committee welcomed visitors to some of Armagh’s most historic buildings, the iconic Gatelodge and Manor House in Milford. Visitors enjoyed tasty refreshments and had an opportunity to take a tour around the quaint Victorian Gatelodge which itself has an abundance of decorative detailing.
European Heritage Open Day (EHOD) takes place annually and is organised by the Historic Environment Division within the Department for communities and is a great opportunity to explore buildings not normally open to public
iCare was delighted to be part of EHOD 2018 to demonstrate to people of all ages the rich and diverse architecture and heritage of Milford. Our visitors really enjoyed the afternoon and hearing about the history of the Gatelodge built and designed by R G McCrum in 1880 and the story of Milford, home of the penalty kick!
