When a group of Homecare Independent Living (HCIL) employees came together in 2010 with the collective aim of giving something back to their local community, iCare was born.
Beginning with a single fundraiser the iCare Committee members grew into what has become a dedicated annual programme of fun, inclusive and family/community friendly fundraising activities across the country.
iCare is committed to making a real difference to the lives of people living in our local communities, in either a personal or practical way. This is done through its iCare Wish initiative.
The iCare Wish initiative allows any member of the public to nominate an individual, family or community group who they believe deserves something special or needs something that they might not be able to afford/acquire themselves. This may be something as simple as a planting a cherry blossom tree in someone’s garden, purchasing tickets for a favourite concert to buying a complex piece of medical equipment or redeveloping a school play area.
The charity relies entirely on the support of its volunteers to run successful fundraisers to grant iCare Wishes with all proceeds going directly to granting iCare Wishes.
The charity’s biggest annual events include the iCare Purple Run, a 3,5 and 10k event in Gosford Park, Co Armagh and the Santa’s Gatelodge Christmas experience in Milford, Co Armagh.
